Give a child a special summer day

Hundreds of youngsters across Scotland need a break soon

They may have experienced bereavement, trauma, domestic abuse or parental ill health; they might be caring for a parent or sibling; coping with the daily challenges of disability, autism and complex needs; or living in poverty affecting every aspect of life.

We’re helping more children than ever.

We rely on your donations to plan activities for them over the summer.

Every child should have special days to remember

Help a child like Sophie

Sophie is a lively 10-year-old who loves cats. She has a mild learning disability but goes to mainstream school. Her family don’t have much and they’re facing the worst imaginable time.

Sophie’s mum has terminal cancer and this will be the last summer Sophie will have with her.

A Quarriers family support worker is helping Sophie to come to terms with what is happening and takes her to child-friendly bereavement counselling sessions at the hospice. Sophie’s dad’s doing his best to look after everyone but they are all struggling. They need a break, but they have no hope of financing that.

Sophie wants to go to the beach with her mum. Please help to make that happen for her.

“I hope my mum will be able to come to the beach with us as she is not well and I am worried about her.”

Your peace of mind

To protect children from identification and to give them the rights to their own stories, some details have been changed and we have used models for some photographs.

If we exceed the funding required, your donation will be used where it is most needed within Quarriers
