We offer a range of services for young men and women aged between 17 and 25. The service has 37 self-contained flats for young people who are typically with the service for up to six months depending on their circumstances.
Each young person is assigned a Key Worker who helps develop skills in budgeting, cooking, housekeeping and door control. This equips young people with the necessary skills and confidence to enable them to move on to their own tenancies.
Sixteen of the 37 flats are for young people with addiction issues. Here, they will attend a group work programme twice weekly and one-to-one counselling is also provided weekly.
We also provide employability opportunities and a range of activities for young people to participate in. By providing long-term solutions in the form of skills and support needed to break the cycle of homelessness, we aim to provide our young people with the means to live independently within the community.
“The staff have helped me with my alcohol problem and helped me feel good again.”

Quarriers James Shields Service accepts referrals from Glasgow City Council Social Work Department, voluntary agencies, and family and friends. Young people can also refer themselves to the project. You or someone on your behalf can make a referral and places will be allocated on a priority basis.
