What are you looking for today?

A carer is someone who, without payment, provides help and support to a partner, child, relative or friend who could not manage without their help. Many people do not recognise themselves as carers.

Please note that due to the current situation with COVID-19, our office is closed to the public.

“I found out about Quarriers Carers Centre through word of mouth. It was a big relief to speak with someone who listened; they treated me with respect and understanding.”

What we do

The aim of the Carers Centre is to provide unpaid carers in North West areas of Glasgow with practical help and emotional support. We offer the following services to carers:

  • Information and Advice – including support to access services through health and social work.
  • Emotional support and a listening ear – both through individual Carer Support Workers and through peer support groups.
  • Respite – help to access short breaks and respite.
  • Income Maximisation – including information on benefits and help to access grants and charitable trusts.
  • Training and wellbeing to help you take care of your personal needs and support you in your caring role.
  • Help for carers to have their voice heard – representing carers with individual issues and campaigning on a local and national level for carers’ rights.

Accessing our service

The Carers Centre is based at 252 Keppochhill Road and supports carers living in the following postcode areas: G1,G2, G3,G4,G11,G12, G21 (part – check with centre), G22 and G23.

If you do not live in any of the above areas, there are Carers Centres across Glasgow: please phone the Carers Information Line on 0141 353 6504. You will be directed to your local centre.

Carers are welcome to contact us directly by phone or e mail, or you can pop in to the centre. Alternatively, you can ask your GP, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or any health or social care professional to pass on your details to us and a member of the Team will contact you directly. You will be allocated a Carer Support Worker who will arrange to meet with you to discuss your caring role and what support we can offer.
