There are young people who will wake up on Christmas morning with nothing.

Send a gift for a young person who is homeless this Christmas

Why your gift is needed

When you donate, a young person who is in the worst of situations in the toughest times – will feel less alone.

In Scotland, almost a quarter of homeless applications are made by young people aged 16-24. Homeless young people come from difficult family situations – the single biggest cause of them becoming homeless is being asked to leave the home.

They have not had the childhood they’re entitled to, and their experiences have had a lasting impact on their development and mental health.

At Quarriers, they have a safe roof over their heads, and all the support we can give them. But Christmas gifts are not considered a funding priority.

The gift you send today might be the only one they get.

Why Quarriers?

At Quarriers, we are working to help young people reach their true potential. We believe in them, and we help them change their lives. It can start in small ways.

Becky’s story

Becky was distressed and struggling to cope when she first came to Quarriers.

At the heart of the work with young people like Becky is connection, and although a gift at Christmas might seem small it is so important. The present she was given last Christmas showed Becky someone cared. It also helped her key worker make a connection with her. Slowly but surely all those moments of small connections with the Quarriers team have added up to the support Becky needed to believe in herself.

Today, she is doing an online college course, and will soon move into her own place. Becky says, “I have learned so much about myself and words can’t describe how grateful I am to the Quarriers team for helping me to move on with my life.”

Help another young person like Becky to feel connected to people who care.

You can bring some Christmas spirit to a terrible year

Homeless young people have not been living the COVID experience in loving families.

After months of isolation, many will spend the festive season alone.

Right now, Quarriers teams are planning how to help young people feel less isolated on the day, but we know the rooms at Quarriers services where young people can meet up can’t be the scene of Christmas get-togethers for everyone to come along to this festive season.

Our teams are planning to visit young people individually in their flats, rooms or bedsits with Christmas dinner plated up.

We need your help to let them know someone is thinking of them, with one small gift.
