The William Quarrier Conference Centre is closed just now due to current government guidelines around the Covid-19 pandemic. Things will likely look a bit different when we can reopen, including reduced capacity in our rooms to allow for social distancing. We will update our meeting room details once we know more, and have the go ahead to reopen the venue. We’ll keep you up to date with how we have made the Centre Covid Secure, and what measures we will be putting in place to make you and your delegates as safe and comfortable as possible. We are still here though, and taking enquiries for future bookings, so please do get in touch with us to further discuss your requirements.
Our conference manager will be happy to talk you through all the options, or to arrange a visit. Our team will help you plan to create the best possible conditions for your event. Email wqsecevents@quarriers.org.uk or call 0141 445 7765 to find out more.
All meeting rooms come with AV equipment as standard. This includes laptop; screen, large TV or Smartboard for presentations and teleconference handset. The Lecture Theatre has in addition to this: ceiling mounted overhead projector, full projection screen, up to 2 additional 42″ TVs for full viewing of presentation or small group work use, lectern, two handheld mics/four tie mics with iPad mini remote audio controller.
We are one of the most advanced telemedicine facilities in Scotland. All rooms can be set up with our Video Conferencing Tandberg 95 Edge system, compatible with NHS Telemedicine conferencing (both IP and ISDN)
By holding your event at The William Quarrier Conference Centre, you will contribute towards your corporate social responsibility outcomes. The conference facilities are adjacent to the William Quarrier Scottish Epilepsy Centre, a not-for-profit centre of excellence providing pioneering diagnosis and treatment for people affected by the condition, and all income from conferences and events goes back into the centre’s crucial work.
Catering starts at £2.25 per person for tea, coffee and biscuits and we have a range of lunch options, ranging from a simple sandwich lunch to more elaborate finger buffets. Call us to discuss your catering requirements.

“We had a great day all around. The delegates were impressed with the venue. The food was superb. The IT equipment worked well without any problems. The room had good acoustics. The staff were very friendly and efficient. I would recommend this conference centre for any meeting.”
– Dr Farrugia, Institute of Neurological Sciences, Southern General Hospital”I have recently helped to organise a one-day workshop held at the William Quarrier Conference Centre and would like to commend the staff on their friendly, highly professional service. Being based in York, I was apprehensive about the practicalities of pulling off an event at a venue I had never seen and would not be able to visit in order to make any of the arrangements directly myself. Moreover, I was coordinating contributors from afar (including New Zealand!) which made the planning that bit more complicated. I was exceptionally grateful to the Centre for their flexibility and high level of support – both before and during the event. Heather Thomson, in particular, helped ensure that everything ran smoothly and that participants enjoyed a good range of food, great coffee and a very pleasant venue on the day. I would definitely recommend this as a conference/workshop venue.”
– Dr Merran Toerien, Lecturer in Sociology, The University of York“The WQCC offers an excellent range of facilities at affordable rates and has a real dedication to pro-active customer service and engagement. The NHS Credit Union is delighted with the on-going relationship and service provided”
– Robert Kelly, NHS Credit Union Ltd“William Quarrier Conference Centre is an excellent venue. From booking through to the event itself, the staff are friendly, helpful and go out of their way to make you feel welcome, nothing is too much trouble for the staff, some of whom are volunteers”
– Lisa Donnelly, NHS GGC
